This international conference brought together over 450 experts and many companies and institutions working with UAS (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).
UAS civilian applications are beginning to have representation at such events, previously devoted exclusively to military applications. Noteworthy is the presence of the team from the University of Florida (this group pioneered the use of such equipment for environmental studies), as well as NASA and NOAA.
At meetings on day 9th it was analyzed the integration of these systems in non-segregated airspace and its possible interference with conventional air traffic, a problem to implement this technology in routine tasks, resulting from discussions that the greatest effort done to determine the characteristics for the certification of aircraft.
The morning sessions focused on the 10th day of UAS military, primarily the larger (HALE-MALE).
On the evening of the 10th was devoted to civil applications, with two lines:
UAS-Large: Global Hawk, Predator, being used by powerful institutions to analysis of global phenomena (climate change, the study of hurricanes).
UAS-small: monitoring and characterization of wildlife habitat.
